Beautiful, Fierce & Fabulous

No stranger to beauty, fashion or the modeling industry, Ms. Jereau Wilson has defiantly put her beauty to the wind. Holding nothing back and leaving no one behind she has found the art of beauty within. We had the opportunity to meet and talk on several occasions. I’ve seen her in action as she works with people to make sure everything thing is in place and just right. Her value holds true to those things that you can’t find a lot of today.

I asked Ms. Wilson what she wanted to the world to know about her… This is what she had to say:

“My name is Jereau M. Wilson from Raleigh, NC. I am the C.E.O. and founder of Beautifully & Wonderfully Made MUA. I am also a Senior Sales Consultant for Mary Kay. In my spare time I do light modeling and model coaching. I work in health care full time. I inspire women to soar like an eagle. I am in EXPECTANCY to see what God has next in my life. My whole day consist of helping others in the best way I know how. I have high energy for life and I stay on the
go”.

Q: What intrigued you about this contest?
A: I was open for the challenge, and as a business owner I felt it would expand my client base as well as offering my experience, strength, and hope to other women.

Q: Beauty is many things to different people. What does it mean to you?

A: Beauty to me is the metamorphosis of change. I love to see people transform into their inner beauty, it takes a strong person to give up the familiarity of life and step into their greatness. Beauty begins when we begin to love who we are and embrace the truth of our flaws and
inconsistencies.

Q: How does your “Kinda Beautiful” empower others?

A: I empower others by pushing them, a lot of people don't believe exactly how strong and powerful they are or how to use their strength. I'm that friend that helps birth dreams, motivate you to your highest quality, and stay in your ear.

Some even call me a bully...LOL. Once you express your dreams and passion to me, I feel like God is using me as a vessel to help build you. I do a lot of community deeds on my own because I'm not one of those looking for praise.

I personally take my used items to those in need and do their hair, give them a hug, and a word of encouragement. My love for people empowers me to help anybody. There's GREATNESS in everyone some just need a little motivation in order to see it.

Q: What motivates you?
A: Mastering the struggles I have encountered, the past pain of self destruction, and facing my fear of being a black business owner is what motivates me daily. I strive to be a better me, knowing that the love for myself is what aids me as a vessel in other people lives.

Another motivation is the smile on a person's face when I speak life into their dreams and goals. Helping others is my calling in life. Every day I pray less of me and more of you God!!!!!

We are proud to present Septembers winner of #mykindabeautiful...Ms. Jereau Wilson. Thank you for participating. We wish you much success in all you do.

"My kinda beautiful means to LOVE the YOU in you."

From the Board Room
to the Run Way

Story by. K. Sweets

When introducing the “My Kinda Beautiful” Edition
of My Sweet Skin, Ms. Shaunielle Foster from Queens, NY jumped on the opportunity to share herself with the world.  When asked what her “Kinda Beautiful” was she simply said “Loving the you in you”.

Shaunielle is a proud mother of two beautiful
children, the CEO and Founder of a wonderful non-profit organization, Footsteps to Follow and Ladies of the Triad where she bridges the gap providing business women with a platform to network. From the board room, to mommy duty, model, radio personality, community leader and all the way to the runway her kinda beautiful does not stop there. Crowned Ms. Black NC 2012, she has taken her title and shared it with everyone she meets. Her ability to move you into action is evident. Excited about life and all that she has to offer Ms. Foster is truly "My Kinda Beautiful".

I had an opportunity to interview Ms. Foster more
about her “Kinda Beautiful”. This is what she had to say:

Q: What intrigued you about this contest?
      A:
This contest was right up my alley. I enjoy
sharing my gifts and talents with everyone. I knew this opportunity would be a great chance to empower others as well as myself. I love to win contest as you know. Being Ms. Black NC has opened many doors and any chance I get to share my story I do.

Q: Beauty is many things to different people. What does it mean to you?
      A:
Beauty starts from within. I make sure that I pray in order to keep my mind in a place of peace and clarity. Working out keeps my physically fit and also helps relieve any stress in my life. I also laugh a lot and love those around me.

Q: How does your “Kinda Beautiful” empower others?
A: My “Kinda Beautiful” means to LOVE the YOU in you. Reflection of my beautiful smile, curvy waist and powerful personality makes me who I am. I enjoy what I do because it brings life and happiness to others. I spend the bulk of my beautiful encouraging young girls to be the shining stars, leaders and powerful women while they are young. I love engaging young women in conversation about their beauty and how they see themselves. I want "My Kinda Beautiful” to set to stage and create platforms for our young people to talk openly about skin color, size, shapes and even hair. The social media has made it so that kids think they have to be a certain size or color to be beautiful. My goal is to end the cycle of self-hate with love.

Q: What motivates you?
     A:
Every morning when I wake up, I have two beautiful children who inspire me to be my best at all times. Being the CEO of a non-profit that supports children with medical disabilities such as brittle bone disease (OI), sickle cell, etc. motivates me. When I see the look on a mothers face who can’t afford to transport their child to needed treatment…that motivates me. Knowing that someone else is suffering and I have to potential to help them keeps me in a humble place. I live to make it  happen for others and be the difference I want to see in others...I’m simply motivated!  Footsteps to Follow was born and has created several fundraisers such as The Traveling Tutu. The kids love them and they are fun to make.

My Kinda Beautiful is proud to present Ms. Foster, August 2013 “My Kinda Beautiful” winner. As you can see she is not just a pretty face. Her light shines for others and the difference is not making her but she is making the difference.
